California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on Wednesday appointed San Clemente city council member Steve Knoblock to the California Council on Criminal Justice. Knoblock has served on the San Clemente City Council since 2005 and currently is running for re-election in the November 4 elections.
Knoblock, 56, has worked as counsel with Luce Forward Hamilton and Scripps since 2007. Prior to that, he served as the assistant general counsel and senior vice president of Fidelity National Financial, Incorporated from 2000 to 2007 and was a shareholder with Duckor Spradling and Metzger from 1997 to 1999. Knoblock was a sole practitioner in the Law Offices of Steven C. Knoblock from 1992 to 1997, vice president and general counsel for Great American Bank from 1987 to 1992 and served as in house counsel for Chicago Title Insurance Company for the Southern California Region from 1986 to 1987. From 1982 to 1986, he served as division counsel at Safeco Title Insurance Company and, from 1978 and 1982, he was in a private law practice.
He currently serves on the Orange County Fire Authority. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no salary. Knoblock is a Republican.
