Former San Clemente mayor and current executive director of the Heritage of San Clemente Foundation, Wayne Eggleston is slated to be the guest speaker at Beachside Chat Friday, August 3.
The chat will meet one hour later at 9 a.m. so it won’t conflict with the Ralphs’ grand opening and ribbon cutting. The twice-monthly coffee klatch is open to the public and hosted by the San Clemente Times at Cafe Calypso on Avenida Del Mar.
A real estate appraiser, Eggleston has lived in San Clemente since 1984 and championed the preservation of Casa Romantica, the former home of city founder Ole Hanson now transformed into a cultural center and gardens.
Eggleston served for 12 years on the San Clemente City Council. The former mayor continues to volunteer time with the foundation, which helps maintain Park Semper Fi in the Pier Bowl.
