Letter to the Editor: What’s Wrong with This Picture

Juniel Worthington, San Clemente

The Chamber of Commerce endorses candidates for the City Council and advertises for them. Their endorsed candidates then vote to give them $30,000 to $40,000 every year of San Clemente tax payer dollars via the city budget. So far Dahl during his career has voted to give the Chamber around $400,000 dollars. How much will Mortenson vote to give to them? Stop this madness. Vote for 1 Robert Bob Baker and Chris Hamm for City Council to overturn this sweetheart deal that the Chamber has with its endorsed candidates.

Hmmmm– Juniel— good point. Seems pretty obvious. This is why I don’t place much stock in not only chamber endorsements but I try not to use the businesses that endorse— I think residents come first—-

^^ Huh? What am I missing here? You try not to use businesses who endorse? Why? Are they not allowed a voice? Or support for that matter? Why has this become a resident vs business issue?

Because it is clear what the chamber/ local biz want– the toll road/strip malls/the hacks who support that junk. I am done with them.

Ms. Worthington is another of the Eggleston/Mann pawns. I feel sorry for her.
