Southern California Edison is preparing to ship out the last of the four retired steam generators to a disposal facility in Utah.
Two of the generators were shipped to the facility last year. Another was sent out last month.
The generator had been sitting out last week, leading to concern about radiation levels in the area. Edison officials maintained at the time that the radiation levels were well within the Department of Transportation’s acceptable levels for transporting nuclear material.
