SCHS Secret Santa Group Collects Clothes for Salvation Army

Members of San Clemente High School’s Secret Santa Club collected more than 40 bags of clothing. As an added gesture, the club also collected more than $400 for the victims of the Newtown, Conn., shootings Saturday at the Albertson’s near the corner of Avenida Pico and Avenida La Pata. The clothes will be donated to the Salvation Army.

The club has 15 members, president Matt Parker said, and had been planning the event for “a couple of months.” The organization is also planning to not only donating some of the clothes to less fortunate people in San Clemente, but also to spend time talking with them as well. The goal of the organization is to spread “Random acts of kindness,” Parker said.
