SC Resident Helps Create Book Drive

Carolyn King, a resident of San Clemente, Alissa Ohanesian, Victoria Lee and Harout Ohanesian, students from St. Margaret’s Episcopal School, founded a club in September 2012 called Books for a Brighter Future. Sharing a love of reading instilled at a young age, the group’s mission is to share literature in a way that will both benefit and involve their community. The group organized a book drive that included donations from the entire St. Margaret’s community.

Their efforts resulted in a shockingly successful turnout of nearly 4,000 books within a three-week period. Having collected a variety of new to gently-used books, the group donated them to some of San Juan Capistrano’s underprivileged elementary and middle schools, as well as the local public library.
