In a press release, California U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa announced on Monday that he will host a public forum and panel discussion on the issue of sober living homes. The discussion is to address possible reform of regulation for sober living homes as well as hear concerns from the community.

“Right now in Congress, I’m working on draft federal legislation to set a framework to allow localities to reform sober living homes so that they work better for our communities, those recovering from drug and alcohol addiction, and everyone involved,” Issa said in a press release.

Issa is currently campaigning for reelection to his Congressional seat against Doug Applegate. Turn to page 10 for more coverage.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday at the San Clemente Community Center, 100 N. Calle Seville. —Staff
