After opening for business five years ago, Modest Spot Salon hairstylist and owner Stephanie Carrillo decided to add a bit more to her business.

Recently, Carrillo debuted her new arts and body products that she sells out of the back of her salon.

“They are all handcrafted goods along with natural beauty and body products,” she said. “It’s anything that can be a small gift.”

Carrillo said the space where she has made the craft shop was being used as storage and she wanted to utilize it.

Carrillo said she wants to bring in more artisan products from locals. She sells succulents from one such San Clemente-based designer.

She said she also wants to host workshops for artists and cater the lessons to all ages.
