Cassano’s Pizza is celebrating the grand opening of their new location, 818 S. El Camino Real in San Clemente, today from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

After 28 years on Avenida Victoria, across the street from the San Clemente Pier, owners Dave Cassano and Sharon Torres lost their lease last March. Now Cassano’s is back in its new location and both Cassano and Torres are excited for what the future holds.

“It’s great to be back,” said Torres. “The support from the community has been unbelievable. It’s great to feel part of the community again, we missed it.”

The new locale features a larger dining area with more seating and an expanded menu.

Cassano expressed his gratitude and approval of the restaurant’s new landlord as well.

“We have a very good landlord now,” Cassano said. “She cares about us and is very active in the community. “

  • Glad to see the Cassino’s are back in biz. The Pizza place at the pier is a disaster, Service and food is not worthy of San Clemente.

  • I really miss Cassano’s at the beach. Loved Cassano’s pizza. Hate the pizza of the new tenant. Their service is bad too. Wish you hadn’t lost your lease!
