San Clemente Times

The city of San Clemente is seeking applications from nonprofit organizations that serve San Clemente residents for grants involving “civic projects, social services or housing and homeless support services,” according to a press release.

“Funding requests will be considered for grants for a new service, event or an established program,” the release from the city stated.  “Funds may be allocated to pay for one-time costs, staffing costs or operation costs (rent, supplies, professional or special services).”

The release also stated the city should not be considered the only source of funding for the projects, suggesting matching grants would be appreciated. The grants are to be provided during the 2018-19 fiscal year. Last year’s funding totaled about $83,000, the release stated.

The application on the city’s website is available at, under the Services/Housing & Social Services/Social Services link. Applications must be submitted to the Community Development Department at 910 Calle Negocio, Suite 100, San Clemente by 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19.
The city is also conducting a survey on affordable housing within San Clemente, which can be found at
