On Monday, July 4 the city of San Clemente will host an Independence Day celebration for the community, beginning at 9 p.m. at the San Clemente Pier. Due to high tides predicted at 9:30 p.m., the city recommends that all beach visitors clear their personal belongings off of the sand by 8 p.m. to prevent loss or water damage during the fireworks show.
Another safety reminder is that all ocean access, including swimming, surfing, and wading, will be closed 1,000 feet in both directions from the pier from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The purpose is to protect people from the dangers of fireworks fallout. The show risks delays or cancellation if the public does not comply with the closure.
The City of San Clemente is planning a positive and safe July 4 celebration for residents and visitors. Please join us in encouraging friends and family to choose safety first.
