6-10 p.m. The Friends of San Clemente Foundation will host its annual Carnival Colossal at Vista Hermosa Sports Park all weekend. The event features an eclectic variety of food and dessert items, live entertainment, rides and a strong man and strong woman competition. On the opening day of the carnival, those with special needs or very young children who require slower rides and lower volume music can get in from 2-6 p.m. The grand opening to the public is from 6-10 p.m. On Friday, Oct. 14, the carnival will be open from 5 p.m.-midnight, and from noon to midnight on Saturday, Oct. 15. And on Sunday, Oct. 16, guests can enter from noon to 10 p.m., with the Scottish Highland Games scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. Tickets for the rides can be purchased on-site.
