In a landmark performance for Casa Romantica, the California Chamber Orchestra will perform Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, a masterpiece of the classical canon. California Chamber Orchestra, the region’s professional chamber orchestra, is made up of working musicians from southwest Riverside County, San Diego, and throughout southern California. A chamber orchestra is distinguished from a symphony or philharmonic orchestra primarily by its smaller size, giving it the flexibility to perform a wide range of music from early Baroque pieces to music by today’s contemporary composers.
Led by Artistic Director and Conductor Dana Zimbric, twelve of the California Chamber Orchestra’s musicians will perform the Vivaldi concerti, accompanied by guest solo violinist Annelle K. Gregory. Gregory is the First Prize winner and Audience Choice winner of the 2017 National Sphinx Competition, and Laureate of the 2013 Stradivarius International Violin Competition.
The California Chamber Orchestra is one of the most moving events of the 2017-18 season, with internationally-recognized talent and the largest chamber orchestra ever to perform at Casa Romantica.
