Highly energetic and theatrical, Blue13 is a Los Angeles-based dance company performing in a modern dance style that is inspired by the classical and cultural art forms of the Indian subcontinent. Their work is moody, rhythmic, and charged, presenting the audience with an intelligent experience of performance that turns the cultural stereotype of Indian dance on its head. Watch Blue13 perform a mix of traditional Bollywood pieces along with contemporary Indian dance pieces onstage in our Main Salon.
About Blue13
For over a decade, Blue13 has performed in the U.S. and abroad, with commissions by entities as diverse as UNESCO, the Los Angeles Music Center, Grand Park Los Angeles Public Art, and New Girl (the television show). The company sends dancers all over the world to choreograph and perform for cultural events, film, and special events, as well as teaching Bollywood dance classes for recreation and empowerment.
