On January 7 San Clemente High School athletic director Jon Hamro announced in a press release that Bill Malcolm will be the school’s new head softball coach.
Malcolm has coached travel softball for the past 25 years and was formerly the head coach at Ontario High School. While coaching travel ball, over 150 of Malcolm’s players received scholarships to play at the collegiate level, according to the press release.
“I am thrilled that Bill has agreed to focus on the high school level of softball at this point in his career. He brings a wealth of knowledge in coaching the game of softball, but even more importantly, Bill has a clear understanding of what it takes to be a successful student-athlete both on and off the field,” Hamro said.
Malcolm will replace former head coach Paul Hill, who guided the Tritons through the 2010-2013 seasons, compiling a 34-44-1 overall record.
