Marian Rieniets
Marian Rieniets

Marian Rieniets passed away on Wednesday, April 4th, as a result of dementia complications. She was surrounded by her loving family.  She was 94.

Born on April 20th, 1923 and raised in Whittier, CA, she was a long time San Clemente resident since 1967.

She lived a life of heroic proportions.  Writing this as her grandchildren, we are awed by the depth and breadth of her accomplishments and generosity.  She was a powerful force for good; a skilled nurse, formidable businesswoman, a loving and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was our matriarch; our indefatigable rock, in the lee of which three generations were sheltered, nursed and loved.

She is survived by daughter Susan, grandchildren, Dan (Candi ), Jim and great-grandchildren Jordyn, David & Billie.  She will also be forever remembered by extended family, neighbors and dear friends.

A Funeral Service in memory of Marian will be held on Saturday, April 21st, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 200 Avenida San Pablo, San Clemente, CA 92672. Tacos and ice cream to follow.

Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Marian to the Family Assistance Ministries (
