After lightning caused activities to be suspended at the San Clemente Ocean Festival on Saturday, event organizers updated the Sunday schedule to accommodate competitors. The new schedule can be found at www.oceanfestival.org.
A notice to competitors posted on the Ocean Festival website following Saturday’s mid-day cancellation of events said Saturday registered athletes will be offered complementary entry into Sunday day two beach events.
Lightning was reported in the area by local officials just before noon on Saturday. People were asked to come back to the shoreline, move away from the beaches and to exit the San Clemente Pier.
The concert, scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight, has been canceled and will not be rescheduled for the weekend.
