Surfing America, the San Juan Capistrano-based national governing body for the sport of surfing, announced the under-18 surfers chosen to represent the United States as members of the PacSun USA Surf Team. Five local surfers made the cut.
Local surfers named to the team are Jake Davis of Capistrano Beach and, from San Clemente, Tia Blanco, Kevin Schulz Colt Ward and Griffin Colapinto.
The announcement was made Monday night during the annual team introduction and fundraising banquet at the Casa Romantica in San Clemente.
