Most popular dish: acai bowl, Brazilian dish with banana and granola
Best known for: Bagels
For a quick breakfast or a place to hang with friends over coffee, the Bagel Shack offers a friendly atmosphere and freshly baked bagels in many flavors. “People come because of the service; we are quick and friendly,” owner Broc Meserve said. “I am told almost daily that we have the best bagels from people who are well-traveled.” The recipe for the bagels was brought over from New York by the previous owners, which Meserve purchased when he took over five years ago. Bagels aren’t the only thing available; there are sandwiches, salads, smoothies and more. Two of the more popular offerings are the Lowers breakfast sandwich, a combo of cheddar cheese and eggs, and the acai bowl, a mixture of the Brazilian berry with banana and granola. Catering is also available.
