The San Onofre Parks Foundation awarded $1,000 scholarships to five San Clemente High seniors during the Senior Awards Night held at the school on May 19.
Sage Brislen, Sosie Casteel, Flip Frauenzimmer, Maddox Holmes-Selby, and Carolyn Sachse were honored.
“We received numerous outstanding applications, and it was a very difficult task for the scholarship committee to select these exceptional recipients,” the Foundation said in a media release announcing the recipients.
Since 2013, the SOPF’s Environmental Studies scholarship program has operated at the school, awarding more than $32,000 in scholarship funds.
“The San Onofre Parks Foundation is a California nonprofit, public benefit, charitable corporation, whose mission is to assist California State Parks in the delivery of public education and interpretation at both San Clemente and San Onofre State Beach Parks,” the release added.
