DISTURBANCE

Camino Vera Cruz/Avenida Pico (2:59 a.m.)

A person unknown to the caller took a cell phone from an unlocked vehicle and then gave it back. No charges were pressed.

ASSIST OUTSIDE AGENCY

Avenida Presidio/Interstate 5 Freeway (1:26 a.m.)

People east of the freeway were shining green and red lasers at southbound drivers.

Sunday, July 10

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCES

Avenida Victoria, 600 Block (11:37 p.m.)

A man was trying to break a sign on the beach.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCES

South Ola Vista/Trafalgar Lane (11:23 p.m.)

An adult woman and an 8-year-old girl were seen going through the trash.

TRAFFIC HAZARD

East Avenida San Juan/El Camino Real (7:54 p.m.)

The red and green lights were cycling but the yellow light was on at all times.

911 HANG-UP

Colina Rodante, 1100 Block (3:39 p.m.)

Calling from a payphone, a woman said “Bob,” then hung up.

BURGLARY REPORT

Estancia, 2900 Block (9:13 a.m.)

The caller’s neighbor found her purse in their yard after calling about a burglarized vehicle.

WELFARE CHECK

Avenida Del Presidente, 2600 Block (2:26 a.m.)

A woman and a man were seen drunken and walking in the middle of the road.

Saturday, July 9

TRAFFIC ACCIDENT-UNKNOWN INJURIES

Avenida Del Mar/El Camino Real (11:39 p.m.)

A person was “thrown out of a vehicle.”

DISTURBANCE

Rio Lindo, 900 Block (11:15 p.m.)

People were moving furniture.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCES

Calle Vallarta/Avenida Vaquero (8:12 p.m.)

A naked man was seen running.

CITIZEN ASSIST

Avenida Pico, 900 Block (7:46 p.m.)

A caller said he had a worm in his food.

DISTURBANCE-MECHANICAL

Calle Puente/Avenida Pelayo (5:54 p.m.)

A caller said a vehicle was “smelly, noisy, going up and down the street stinkin’ up the place.”

DISTURBANCE

Avenida Junipero, 0 Block (4:19 p.m.)

A person was in the alleyway, walking around and acting suspicious.

RECKLESS DRIVING

Calle Toledo, 1400 Block (3:54 p.m.)

People were seen throwing fireworks out of their vehicles while racing.

TRESPASSING

Via Turqueza, 2400 Block (2:44 p.m.)

A person was seen taking trash out of cans and throwing it around.

CITIZEN ASSIST

Escalones, 100 Block (1:36 p.m.)

A phone was stolen, and the caller found it on Craigslist.

ASSIST OUTSIDE AGENCY

Camino De Los Mares, 600 Block (11:02 a.m.)

Animal control was called to respond to a gray Subaru Outback with tinted windows with a dog locked inside for 30 minutes.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCES

Avenida Pico/Avenida La Pata (10:10 a.m.)

A man with a hammer was asking the caller for help trying to break into a car in the parking lot. The caller said it was unknown if the vehicle belonged to the man with the hammer. The caller said they never saw the man’s vehicle. The man then walked “very quickly” toward the Taco Bell.

ASSIST OUTSIDE AGENCY

Avenida Granada, 400 Block (9:48 a.m.)

Animal Control was requested after someone got upset about the illegal trapping of a skunk.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCES

El Camino Real, 300 Block (6:59 a.m.)

A man and a woman were asleep on the bench in front of Starbucks. An employee called and said they were on drugs and left blood and paraphernalia in the bathroom.

STOLEN VEHICLE

El Camino Real, 500 Block (4:30 a.m.)

The caller said she parked her car at 502 N. El Camino Real with the keys in the ignition. The car was a 1986 silver Mercedes-Benz.

Friday, July 8

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCES

Avenida Pico/Calle Del Cerro (11:23 p.m.)

A man was looking at something in his hand and dancing around at the street corner.

PETTY THEFT

Via Pico Plaza, 0 Block (12:40 p.m.)

The location’s business owners reported losing $3,000 in merchandise over the course of a year.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCES

Calle Agua/Camino De Los Mares (11:21 a.m.)

A woman with a young child with her was begging for money.

BURGLARY REPORT

Avenida Del Reposo, 100 Block (11:20 a.m.)
The owner reported a loss of $2,400.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCES

Avenida Serra, 200 Block (9:14 a.m.)

A man was on the roof yelling for help.

Thursday, July 7

SUSIPICIOUS PERSON IN VEHICLE

Camino La Pedriza/Avenida Pico (9:52 p.m.)

Police were called to a man with a woman in the back seat. The man was seen hitting her while driving.

DISTURBANCE

Calle Las Bolas, 1600 Block (6:40 p.m.)

A man was yelling at himself and telling passersby they’re “all going to die.”

CITIZEN ASSIST

Avenida Pico, 300 Block (4:18 p.m.)

A man said he experienced very dangerous magnetic and electrical fields on Ortega Highway.

DISTURBANCE-MUSIC OR PARTY

Avenida Victoria, 600 Block (3:23 p.m.)

A man was playing the bagpipes “louder than the train horn.”

PETTY THEFT REPORT

El Camino Real, 300 Block (1:28 p.m.)

A man reported his bike was stolen. A 36-year-old man, who was listed as a construction worker, was arrested in the incident and is being held on $20,000 bail.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCES

Linda Lane, 400 Block (12:45 p.m.)

Police were called to reports of a man urinating in the park.

DISTURBANCE

Puerta Del Sol, 1200 Block (12:14 p.m.)

A patient/client was reportedly drunk and being “verbally aggressive with the staff.” A 25-year-old man was arrested in the incident but has since been released.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCES

Camino De Estrella/Interstate 5 Freeway (10:26 a.m.)

A woman said a man urinated “right in front of her.”

SUSPICIOUS PERSON IN VEHICLE

Via Casa Loma, 2700 Block (8:46 p.m.)

Police were called to a man passed out in a white Ford truck with unknown license plates and the passenger door open.

El Camino Real, 300 Block (7:45 a.m.)

A woman reportedly set up camp repeatedly in the caller’s bathroom.

Wednesday, July 6

DISTURBANCE

Avenida San Diego, 100 Block (9:45 p.m.)

Someone had thrown a mirror off the second story.

KEEP THE PEACE

Corte Merlango, 2400 Block (5:24 p.m.)

The caller said they allowed their friend to borrow their car, and the car was involved in a hit-and-run.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCES

Avenida De Los Lobos Marinos, 500 Block (3:53 p.m.)

People were seen egging the neighborhood.

DISTURBANCE

Canto Nubiado, 2800 Block (8:14 a.m.)

A man was sleeping in the laundry room.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCES

Avenida Patero De Oro, 100 Block (2:29 a.m.)

A man said he heard a “clunk.”

DRUNK IN PUBLIC

El Camino Real, 3300 Block (12:45 a.m.)

Police were called to reports of a man who was drunken and could barely walk.
