Employees from Cox Communications will distribute between 5,000 and 7,000 pounds of fresh produce, dry goods and beverages families in need at Second Harvest’s mobile pantry event from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Saddleback Church Peace Center, 1311 Calle Batido in San Clemente.
More than 300 people are expected to receive food at the distribution, according to a press release from Cox.
“In advance of the upcoming school year, Cox Communications will also offer families at the event the chance to register for home internet services for the discounted rate of $9.95 a month,” the release stated. “Cox has teamed up with Connect2Compete to help eligible Orange County families receive affordable internet access, a necessity with today’s educational requirements. The program is designed to make sure students have equal access to technology and the ability to compete both in school and the workforce.”
