The San Clemente Chamber of Commerce works year-round to support a strong economic environment and exceptional quality of life in our community. We are proud to provide our local businesses with unique resources, marketing opportunities and advocacy efforts, which allow them to connect and thrive.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 impacts in Orange County continue to threaten tourism, the survivability of some of our small businesses and several of this year’s local events, including the Chamber-sponsored Fiesta Music Festival, Seafest, grand openings and ribbon-cuttings, along with countless other citywide festivities.

To aid in economic recovery, the San Clemente Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Business Association (DBA) and city of San Clemente have partnered to launch the “Staying Healthy Means Staying Open” campaign, showcased with colorful posters, decals and banners that are displayed around town.

The campaign embraces our joint groups’ responsibilities to relay the state and local COVID-19 guidelines on hand washing, social distancing and mask usage to help mitigate the virus’ spread and get back to business—and back to having fun.

For our local businesses, the 11-by-17-inch posters and circular decals are available at no cost, courtesy of the Chamber, DBA and city of San Clemente, alongside sponsor Farmers and Merchants Bank of San Clemente. Any business may request a poster and decal for display in an inviting manner. Email info@scchamber.com to request materials and membership information.

The San Clemente Chamber of Commerce would like to thank our devoted business owners and community members for their hard work and compassion as we navigate a sea of confusing messages and changes to our everyday behaviors. We recognize that everyone is doing their best to recover in a manner most comfortable and appropriate for them, and we thank you for doing your part.

Let’s all stay healthy so that we can stay open. We’ve got this, San Clemente!

Susie Lantz is the membership director for the San Clemente Chamber of Commerce, and works alongside Arlen Flores, Director of Operations, and Joey Brett in Customer Relations.

Susie joined the Chamber in 2019, after having spent several years working in advertising and marketing with the San Clemente Times, where she remains a loyal supporter of local media and the Picket Fence Media family.

  • It’s so sad that the GOP has become an anti science no nothing party. The best thing Trump could have done for our economy would have been to follow the science, save lives, and follow the world’s lead.

Trump, and his cult, are like petulant children and frankly not the brightest kids.

Stay safe SC— wear a mask, social distance, wash your hands— and the economy will, one day, bounce back.

    Listen to Dr. Fauci.

    11-3 This ends….

    • What’s really sad is people like Tom McClellands statement above bashing the president and his supporters for the spread of c-19. Toms idiotic and self centered option is just that, an opinion. He, as well as others like him, feel as though they know exactly the answer and who to blame, as well as the “experts” to listen too. “Listen to Dr. Faucci “ he says. Well those with common sense, did listen to him here when he very candidly downplayed the wearing of masks and dismissed wearing them as a feel good act.

Also, Tom says this all ends November 3. This virus doesn’t end then, and we can’t hide from it either.
The only thing that ends on November 3, is the idea that Creepy Joe Biden will win.
Hey Tom, stick it where the sun doesn’t shine.
      “Just say no to masks”!🤙

  • Fellas– I’m pretty sure old Tom M is correct. Trump blew it in responding to covid. We [are less than 5% of the earth’s population but 25% of the covid!

LOL– you do the math little buddies! He is going for herd immunity which may kill close to 2 mil Americans— certainly over a million.

What’s so hard about understanding0 that your boy trump is just not that great at presidenting?

  • The only thing he’s good at is failing.

Trump Airlines = Launched in 1988 Dead by 1990

Trump The Game (Milton Bradley)= Launched in 1988 Discontinued in 1990 due to lack of sales.

Trump Casino= Bankrupt How bad a crook do you have to be?

    Trump Magazine= Launched 2007 dead by 2009

    Trump Mortgage= Launched 2006 dead by 2007

Trump Steaks = Pulled from shelves after only two months due to poor sales

Trump Travel AKA GoTrump.com = Launched 2006 Dead by 2007

Trump University = Dead and Under Investigation in two states

Trump Vodka = Launched in 2006 Trademark abandoned 2008

In every one of these cases he left owing people money.

    Lots of money.

    • “The only thing he’s good at is failing.”

How daft is a statement like this when Donald Trump is PRESIDENT TRUMP and he is the author of a number of best selling books as well as the star in the series the Apprentice which ran for some 15 seasons. How many successful properties does he own and operate? How does he stay so rich and how can the President afford to donate his entire salary to charity or to Veterans year after year?

      For a little perspective:

The Trump Organization is a group of about 500 business entities of which Donald Trump is the sole or principal owner.[5] About 250 of these entities use the Trump name.[6][7]

The Trump Organization, through its various constituent companies and partnerships, has or has had interests in real estate development, investing, brokerage, sales and marketing, and property management. Trump Organization entities own, operate, invest in, and develop residential real estate, hotels, resorts, residential towers, and golf courses in various countries.[6][7][8] They also operate or have operated in construction, hospitality, casinos, entertainment, book and magazine publishing, broadcast media, model management, retail, financial services, food and beverages, business education, online travel, commercial and private aviation and beauty pageants.[9][10] Trump Organization entities also own the New York television production company that produced the reality television franchise The Apprentice.[11] Retail operations include or have included fashion apparel, jewelry and accessories, books, home furnishings, lighting products, bath textiles and accessories, bedding, home fragrance products, small leather goods, vodka, wine, barware, steaks, chocolate bars, and bottled spring water.[12]

I would be pleased as punch to fail economically in the manner that Donald Trump has…only a moron would consider this list an account of failure.

Hal displays all the classic signs of TDS wholly unable to dispassionately and objectively address the facts. Wiser minds will also consider how much President Trump has achieved for the benefit of this nation.

Did I forget to mention President Trump has been nominated for a second Nobel Peace Prize?
