The San Clemente boys volleyball team’s run for a CIF-SS title may have ended with their semifinal loss to Loyola on May 15, but the team’s quest for a CIF Regional Championship is just about to begin.
On May 21 the Tritons will travel to play Granada Hills out of the Los Angeles area in the first round of the CIF SoCal Regional Division 1 Championships.
The Tritons were awarded the No. 4 overall seed in the elite eight-team Southern California bracket. Granada Hills is the No. 5 seed and will host the Tritons.
It is still unknown if Tritons standout outside hitter Lucas Yoder will be available for the first round. Yoder, who suffered a concussion following a skateboard accident, did not suit up for San Clemente during the Southern Section playoff run.
