There are three trolley vehicles that operate on a downtown route, see map on the city’s website, with 16 stops that are clearly marked with signs. The trolleys are free to ride, and riders can expect a trolley at each stop about every 15 minutes. For real-time trolley tracking, visit www.sctrolley.com or download the SC Trolley app.
The funding for the San Clemente Trolley came from a $1.2 million grant from the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) which the city applied for. The grant covers most of the cost to operate the trolley, and the city pays for the rest. The Friends of the San Clemente Beaches, Parks & Recreation Foundation provided a donation of $10,000 to help start the trolley service.
