After two years of planning and another year of construction, La Ventura Event Center is starting to take reservations for weddings, corporate events and more.

Don Kappauf, the owner, and Eric Wagoner of the restaurant Iva Lee’s, which will be the exclusive caterer of the venue, have been pursuing this endeavor together.

The main center is 5,000 square feet and the wedding courtyard is 1,500 square feet. The center also provides free chairs for events.

Outside, the wedding ceremony area is tailor-made for the bride to enter through two large doors with jasmine flowers in the background. Inside, the large reception hall is accommodating for larger weddings, with the catering kitchen right next to it.

A room for the groom and a room for the bride are situated to ensure the couple do not see each other before the wedding.
Through a combination of rates, people can book what kind of food and other preparations they want for their event. The venue is able to hold 150 people at maximum.

“We’re really excited to get started,” Wagoner said.

La Ventura is located at 2316 S. El Camino Real in San Clemente. For more information, visit www.laventuraeventcenter.com.
